How the EXIF Remover Works
- Upload a photo: Click the upload area or drag and drop your image (JPG works best for metadata detection; PNG and WebP rarely carry EXIF).
- Review what was found: The tool scans the file and lists any GPS coordinates, date/time, and camera/device info it detected — so you know exactly what you're about to share.
- Remove and download: Click "Remove EXIF & Download" to get a clean copy of your photo with all of that hidden data stripped out. The image itself looks identical — only the invisible metadata is removed.

What is EXIF data, and why does it matter?
EXIF is hidden information embedded in photo files by your phone or camera — often including the exact GPS coordinates of where the photo was taken, the date and time, and the device model. If you share the original file, this data can travel with it even though it's invisible in the photo itself.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Both the metadata scan and the removal happen entirely in your browser. Your photo is never sent to a server, and nothing is stored.
Will removing EXIF data change how my photo looks?
No. Only the hidden metadata is removed — the visible image content, resolution, and quality stay the same.
Does this work on PNG or WebP files?
You can upload them, but PNG and WebP files typically don't carry the same kind of location/camera metadata that JPEGs do, so there's usually nothing to detect or remove. This tool is most useful for JPG photos straight from a phone or camera.
